At Canadian Church Directory, our primary purpose is to equip Christians with some tools that will help them to express and communicate their faith in Jesus Christ, on the Internet, as well as in their own back yard.

We are called to go where people are and tell the Good News of Jesus Christ, His death, His ressurection, and His emminent coming again. People are finding information about everything imaginable on the Internet. We believe it is imperative that the church of the 21st Century establish her place there.

Through the use of the Internet, anyone can erect a virtual pulpit and proclaim their message to millions of people simultaneously. As Christians, we must herald the message of our King amongst the body of information that is growing daily. No other medium has allowed so many to speak so freely to so many others. It is our prayer that God would raise up an army of E-vangelists to infiltrate cyber-space and proclaim God's love at every opportunity.

Our goal is to enable E-vangelists to enter the medium, and to have something to say when they get there. We will, with the help of God, provide studies and resources for novice and veteran alike.

While we recognize the value of ministry on the internet, we also believe very strongly that there is no substitute for the fellowship and accountability of the local church, where believers gather to encourage and edify each other. It is with this thought in mind that we are compiling this online directory of churches in Canada. Whether you are visiting or moving to a new community, or finally realizing that you need a church home, we want to help you to find a church.

We will try to accurately discuss, without predjuice, the distinctives of various denominations. While there are some fundamental values that most denominations hold in common, there are some 'peripheral beliefs' that may help you to determine where you might best fit in. Of course, choosing a church home is more than an academic excersize. As you begin the process, it is important to ask God to lead you to where you will be nurtured and where you will find your place in an active living spiritual organism - a local church.

This is probably a good time to assert that many of the opinions experssed here are solely mine and I am entitled to them. Some will disagree (with equal entitelment) and I am OK with that. Also, different aspects of church distinctives will be more imoptant to some than to others. Different theology, forms of worship, demographics, ministry emphasis and maybe some things I have overlooked. YOU need to decide what is important to YOU. Once you know what you are looking for, we hope that we can help you find it.

There was a time when theology was more important to me than it is today. I was sure that God had obviously led me to a church that was teaching 'the truth' and that any variant must be heresy. Time has taught me, sometimes more tenderly than others, that some of my brothers and sisters have come to some different conclusions over some matters and that they have been equaly sincere and diligent in their quest. While some core values are still imparative, on some issues we have agreed to disagree and we will sort things out when we get to heaven.

In another matter, lots of groups feel they have divine revelation and scriptural basis for their form of church government. I have my own predjudices in this matter, but I will endeavour to not reveal or promote them over other forms.
