Different churches
have different forms of government for managing their ministry. Some have an established hierarchy
with policy and doctrine prescribed by the denomination. Other organizations are driven by the rank
and file people in the pews. Their government functions to maintain structure and lines of communication.
Each of these forms, and all the variations between, have their advantages and disadvantages. These may have greater or lesser importance in the eye of the seeker.
If this is a factor which is important to you, you may have to inquire when you contact or visit a prospective church.
I am currently researching this factor and will post a better perspective shortly.
